The Serious Games master project, supervised by Prof. Dr. Rainer Malaka, Marc Herrlich und Markus Krause, focuses on creating a computer game for people with Parkinson’s disease. We found out that only one third of the patients train at home, therefore our game aims to promote the patient’s home training in an attractive and playful way. So far the project team explored the domain of Parkinson to become more familiar with different aspects of the disease (e.g., mental and physical disabilities and treatment methods). While research is in an ongoing process during this whole project, we are currently in close contact with the German Parkinsin Association (Deutsche Parkinson Vereinigung) where we test our developed prototypes with a specific target group for our game.
